Charleston, W.Va.: Three Point Strategies, LLC (3PS), a West Virginia-based government affairs, public relations, and association management firm, has been selected to manage the Metallurgical Coal Producers Association (MCPA) – a regional association made up of metallurgical coal producers from Virginia and West Virginia. As part of its management agreement, 3PS’s managing member, Ben Beakes, has been named president of the recently formed association. This marks the third association that has chosen 3PS for its comprehensive management, government affairs, and public relations services.
“My team and I are honored to serve the members of the MCPA,” said Beakes. “We are thankful they have placed their trust in our abilities to lead the association and execute its mission.” The MCPA was formed in September 2020 out of response to the changing coal industry. The association and its members solely advocate for the opportunities of the metallurgical coal industry – metallurgical coal is a main ingredient in making steel.
The addition of MCPA as a client is more proof that 3PS’s comprehensive management model is effective and attractive to professional associations. “Our team has the ability to provide full services important to associations,” said Beakes. “We provide government affairs, public relations, and executive leadership services that associations need to advance their trade. From designing the website, to managing the day-to-day business, to developing and executing strategic advocacy and outreach plans, 3PS is a full-service firm.”
3PS began as a one-person lobbying and government affairs firm in 2015. In 2018 it branched out into association management services. In 2019 the firm began offering marketing and digital services to new and existing clients. In 2020 it added an additional lobbyist to serve the needs of its clients. 3PS celebrated its five-year anniversary in September of 2020.
“Our goal at 3PS is to put our clients in the best position possible to achieve successful outcomes,” Beakes said. “And relationships matter. We want to be a light to our clients and to those with whom we interact on their behalf.”
